Abstract

The purpose of the article is to identify the features of the legal regulation of legal monitoring at the regional level. According to the authors, the most appropriate way to achieve this goal is to use a comparative legal research method, which made possible to identify common and special features of the regulation of legal monitoring at the federal and regional levels, as well as to compare options for regulating legal monitoring at the regional level with each other.

The article evaluates the regulation of legal monitoring at the level of constituent entities of the Russian Federation according to the following criteria: terminological apparatus, object of legal monitoring, subject of legal monitoring, methodological and information support of legal monitoring. The authors conclude that the regions have accumulated significant experience in legal regulation of legal monitoring and related issues of rulemaking, in some cases ahead of federal regulation. The article determines the directions for further improvement of regional legislation on issues of legal monitoring.
