Team-based learning: a projection on legal education

The article examines the teaching technique of team-based learning, which can be used to improve the quality of the educational process during the study of a wide range of disciplines. The author characterizes team-based learning as a teaching method that promotes active and effective interaction of students with each other and with the teacher. The goals, means and features of the implementation of this method in the educational process are explained in detail. In addition, the author analyzes the advantages of using the team-based learning method, in comparison with other teaching techniques. Team-based learning enables to stimulate critical thinking, skills of analysis and synthesis, the ability to find creative solutions to complex and non-standard problems.
A separate emphasis is placed on the influence of team-based learning on the students status: instead of a passive object, they become the main doers, maximally involved in the educational process and bearing independent responsibility for improving their academic achievement. Moreover, the author investigates the role of the teacher, who, due to the team-based learning method, improves practical thinking and theoretical training of students. Particular attention is paid to the prospects for the use of team-based learning within the study of legal disciplines, in particular the course "Civil Procedure". Finally, the author makes a conclusion about the undoubted benefits of introducing team-based learning, which will improve the practical and theoretical training of students, enhance the importance of independent work, prepare to find a unanimous solutions to a complex problems, and increase communicative competencies.
