Abstract

The functioning of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation for more than three centuries, without losing its social significance, is based not only on the relevance of the performed functionality to maintain the rule of law, but also on the steadfastness of moral and ethical standards, which are the basis of professional activity. Despite the fact that the first ethical code of the prosecution service was adopted only in 2010, a historical analysis of the formation of the ethical standards allows us to conclude that the rules formulated by the code are the result of a historical and systematically developing process of the formation of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation. This article proposes to investigate the issue of the formation of the standards of professional ethics of prosecutorial activity in a historical retrospective, as well as to highlight those that have not lost their relevance to the present and are reflected in the current legal acts.
