Abstract

The article is devoted to the issues of modernizing legal education in the context of globalization. It
is noted that the gradual introduction of innovations and technologies into all spheres of life has also
influenced the model for providing educational services and its content. In the author's opinion, all
law schools wishing to play a fundamental role in the legal ecosystem should reconsider many aspects
of their activities, due to the challenges of globalization. Attention is drawn to the close relationship between the development of law schools and the promotion of the legal profession as a whole.

The author agrees with the criticism of law schools for their unwillingness to update curriculum
and reform the practice of teaching students in such a way that they receive the knowledge and develop the competencies necessary for long-term career success in the XXI century. In addition, the author thoroughly considers the question of what it means to be an «innovative» law school. It is argued that this characteristic is applicable to institutions where the curriculum includes special courses on the interaction of law and technology and the development of soft skills – the traits and competencies that are of particular importance in today's highly competitive labor market.
